We hope this finds you safe, healthy, and well during the complex and changing times. While we did not anticipate our first-ever school year to end in this way, we are inspired by and committed to our children right now more than ever. We are proud of their resilience and adaptability to the current circumstances and environment.
Announcement
NEW SITE: KALAELOA.
We are excited to announce that DREAMHOUSE ‘EWA BEACH will be moving this summer to a new school site in Kalaeloa. This site is located just makai of the Wakea Gardens Apartments (91-1245 Franklin D Roosevelt Ave, Kapolei, HI 96707) with a turnaround entrance on Hornet Ave.
Timeline
Here is a brief history of how Kalaeloa came to be:
December 2018: DREAMHOUSE INC. (non-profit that supports DreamHouse ‘Ewa Beach) signs lease with HUNT.
July 2019: DreamHouse ‘Ewa Beach opens in Laulani Village to allow for permitting, design, and development of Kalaeloa plan.
January 2020: HUNT begins renovation and revitalization of site.
July 2020: DreamHouse ‘Ewa Beach moves into new site. (projected)
August 2020: DreamHouse ‘Ewa Beach begins the 2020-21 school year (grades 6 + 7) at new site. (projected)
The new site will be a one-building, multi-room, indoor/outdoor facility that will house our growing school.
Next Steps
We will be cleaning and working out of the Laulani Village site over the next several weeks, and on July 1 we will move to the new Kalaeloa site to begin operations. Some updated, hopeful dates in the near future (physically distanced, socially responsible protocols in planning and development right now):
June 27: Moving day.
July 1: Begin at Kalaeloa.
July 18: Blessing. (postponed)
July 20: Registration.
July 21-24: Summer Leadership Camp. (new students only)
July 26-30: Staff on-boarding and development week (no school).
August 4: First day of the 2020-21 school year.
This schedule is tentative, but please keep an eye on your mail, e-mail, website, and social media for updates as we head into the summer.
